Zippy Chippy Big Winner at Old Friends

When Old Friends at Cabin Creek: The Bobby Frankel Division opened its doors to retired thoroughbreds late last year, one of the first horses to arrive was Thunder Rumble.

Winner of the Travers and Jim Dandy, as well as a few other stakes on the NYRA circuit, the now-21-year-old stallion finished three seasons of racing with a record of 19-8-0-1 and a career bankroll of $1,047,552. Among the riders to pilot him during his career were Hall of Famers Mike Smith, Gary Stevens and Eddie Delahoussaye, along with some of the other greats of the game in Herb McCauley and Richie Migliore.

Among the farm’s newest residents is a horse at the other end of the racing spectrum, Zippy Chippy.
