Multiple Grade 1 winner Anisette makes her return to the races in Saturday’s Grade 2, $200,000 Yellow Ribbon Handicap at Del Mar.

Anisette will spot the rest of the six-horse field anywhere from six to nine pounds under Umberto Rispoli when the Yellow Ribbon is run as race 8 of 10 at 8:32 p.m. EDT. The 1 1/16th-mile turf test will be shown live on FanDuel TV.

Looking at the pace

The pace projector senses that frontrunners Bellabel and Ever Smart will have an advantage in the Yellow Ribbon, calling into question Anisette's ability to make her patented late run.

This week's Super Screener contains a long shot play in the Sorrento Stakes (G3) at Del Mar. Here's what Super Screener creator Mike Shutty said about Vodka With a Twist at 6-1:

"Vodka With a Twist will likely see them all early, but should be within three lengths of the pace. ... She already has a win at this distance, and – more importantly – has shown an ideal balance in how she distributes her energy. She'll just sit off the pace and when other fillies are tiring, she'll just be getting going."

Chip Gehrke's latest divisional rankings believe Anisette can threaten for top turf female with a win in the Yellow Ribbon.

Mike Smith, 59, was profiled by Del Mar ahead of his start in the Yellow Ribbon atop Ever Smart.

J. Keeler Johnson's latest Horses to Watch column highlighted a logical Sorrento Stakes (G3) win threat in Nooni.
