Yaddo Next for Chorus Music

Curragh Stables’ Chorus Music, winner of Sunday’s Irish Linnet stakes, will likely make her next start in the 1 1/16-mile Yaddo for New York-bred turf fillies and mares on August 19.

“If she’s well, that’s exactly where we are going,” said trainer John Terranova. “That was the plan – to freshen her off that last race, give her a little space, come here and prep in this race, then onto the Yaddo. She’s having one of her best years so far. Hopefully, we can keep it going.”

The Irish Linnet was the sixth career victory – and the second win this year – for the 6-year-old Chorus Music, who covered the mile in 1:35.87 over a firm turf course. It was her first start in nearly two months, having finished third as the favorite in the Mount Vernon at Belmont Park after encountering traffic problems.

“She’s a very consistent filly. She seems to run well fresh with a little bit of spacing.” said Terranova. “In her last race, she was a little unfortunate. She a victim of a bad pace and got trapped down inside. Some of the others got a jump on her and she had a little bit of traffic trouble.”
