Wrapping up Dubai

There is always plenty to talk about after the Dubai World Cup. This year, with the multi-billion-dollar Meydan Racecourse making its prime-time debut, there’s even more to talk about than usual.

Unlike the misnamed Breeders’ Cup World Championships, the Dubai World Cup program truly is a "world" event. This year’s starters included 35 horses who won Grade/Group I races last year in 17 different countries. Non-Group I winners from Turkey and Norway also competed. The winners of this year’s seven races represented (or were bred in) nine countries on five continents.
