World of Trouble extends win streak in Twin Spires Turf Sprint

World of Trouble, back at the site of his most heartbreaking defeat, left nothing to chance in winning Friday’s Grade 2, $250,000 Twin Spires Turf Sprint at Churchill Downs.

Last time here, he was beaten just a neck by Stormy Liberal, who went on to win an Eclipse Award as a result, in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.

Since then, the Jason Servis-trained World of Trouble has won all four of his starts — three on dirt, and then Friday back on the green.

“Maybe he’s better on the grass," Servis said.

Under jockey Manny Franco, the Florida-bred son of Kantharos broke on top, set a moderate pace of 23.07 an 46.08 and finished up 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:03.97.

Off at 1-5, he left a blanket of horses fighting behind with Smart Remark, Chaos Theory and Undrafted filling out the board.

World of Trouble improved his record to 12: 8-2-1 for the connections of Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables and Bethlehem Stables. A Grade 1 winner two starts back, he will likely continue campaigning on both surfaces this season.

“I just ask Mr. Dubb which way we’re going," Servis said. "He tells me, I point him that way, and we go.”
