Works + video: BC-bound White Abarrio leads 13 graded winners
Getting ready to try and add another Breeders’ Cup trophy to his connections’ collection, White Abarrio fired off a half-mile breeze Tuesday morning at Gulfstream Park, his last workout before he is shipped to the championships at Del Mar.
The 6-year-old trained by Saffie Joseph Jr. worked the half-mile in 47.6 seconds. It was the fastest of three drills covering that course and distance Tuesday.

Coming off a fourth-place finish in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup on Aug. 31 at Saratoga, the Race Day entire owned by C2 Racing, Gary Barber and La Milagrosa Stable is ticketed for the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile on Nov. 1 at Del Mar. Two years ago White Abarrio won the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita.

It was the fastest of three works at the distance. His previous work was 12 days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start, he placed fourth in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Saratoga on Aug. 31 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.
Damon’s Mound (Girvin), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2023 Gallant Bob, 2022 Saratoga Special), worked four furlongs in 47.9 seconds at Saratoga. It was the fastest of five works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Saratoga. In his last start, he placed fourth in the Parx Sprint going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Parx on Sept. 20 for trainer Bill Mott.
Banishing (Ghostzapper), a Grade 2 winner (2025 Charles Town Classic), worked four furlongs in 50.4 seconds at Churchill Training. It was the slowest of eight works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going three furlongs at Churchill Training. In his last start, he placed third in the Lukas Classic (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Sept. 27 for trainer David Jacobson.
Bellezza (Siyouni), a Grade 2 winner (2025 Flower Bowl), worked five furlongs in 1:02.8 at Saratoga. It was the faster of two works at the distance. Her previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Saratoga. In her last start, she won the Flower Bowl (G2) going 1 3/8 miles on the turf at Saratoga on Aug. 30 for trainer Miguel Clément.
Idratherbeblessed (Unified), a Grade 2 winner (2025 Muniz Memorial Classic presented by Horse Racing Nation), worked five furlongs in 1:02.0 at Churchill Downs. It was the sixth fastest of eight works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start, he placed seventh in the Louisville (G3) going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Churchill Downs on May 17 for trainer Chris Hartman.
