Works report: Breeders' Cup contenders breeze Monday
A handful of likely Breeders' Cup contenders tuned up for the Nov. 4-5 event at Keeneland with works on Monday morning.
Jackie's Warrior, Steve Asmussen's star sprinter, worked at Keeneland. Havnameltdown, winner of the Best Pal (G3) and runner-up in the Del Mar Futurity (G1) worked for Bob Baffert at Santa Anita. And Blue Stripe, who earned an automatic berth in the Breeders' Cup Distaff with her win in the Clement L. Hirsch (G1), worked at Santa Anita for trainer Marcelo Polanco.

Jackie's Warrior (Maclean's Music) a five-time Grade 1 winner, worked four furlongs in 49.4 at Keeneland on Monday morning. It was the fifth fastest of nine works at the distance. His previous work was 15 days ago going 4 furlongs at Keeneland. In his last start he placed second in the Forego (G1) going seven furlongs on the main track at Saratoga on Aug. 27 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
Blue Stripe (Equal Stripes), a Grade 1 winner (2022 Clement L. Hirsch), worked five furlongs in 59.6 at Santa Anita Park on Monday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 37 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita Park. In her last start she won the Clement L.
