Works: Henley's Joy is among 19 graded-stakes winners on tab

Henley's Joy, a 7-year-old Grade 1 winner who has yet to reach the winner's circle this year, was among 19 graded-stakes winners recording timed workouts on Saturday around the U.S.

The son of Kitten's Joy worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Churchill Training Center, the third fastest of  25 works at the distance.

The Mike Maker-trained gelding recorded his Grade 1 victory in the 2019 Belmont Derby Invitational but is winless in 31 starts since then. Most recently he finished third in an allowance race over the synthetic track at Woodbine on Oct. 8.

That was his first start for Maker after being claimed by new owners Paradise Farm Corp. and David Staudacher for $62,500 out of an allowance-optional claiming race on Sept. 9 at Kentucky Downs.

Kathleen O. (Upstart), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2022 Gulfstream Park Oaks, 2022 Davona Dale), worked four furlongs in 51.2 seconds at Niall Brennan Stables on Saturday morning. It was the only work at the distance. Her previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Niall Brennan Stables. In her last start she placed fifth in the Ruffian (G2) going one mile on the main track at Belmont Park on May 6 for trainer Shug McGaughey.

Public Sector (Kingman), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2021 Hill Prince, 2021 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame), worked four furlongs in 50.7 seconds at Palm Meadows on Saturday morning. It was the 58th fastest of 66 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going three furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed fifth in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Aqueduct on Nov. 3 for trainer Chad Brown.

Manny Wah (Will Take Charge), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Phoenix), worked four furlongs in 51.0 seconds at Turfway Park on Saturday morning. It was the 109th fastest of 125 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Turfway Park. In his last start he placed sixth in the Bet on Sunshine going six furlongs on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 4 for trainer Wayne Catalano.

Maryquitecontrary (First Dude), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Inside Information), worked four furlongs in 48.1 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Saturday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 37 works at the distance. Her previous work was 11 days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In her last start she placed second in the Princess Rooney Invitational (G3) going seven furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Oct. 7 for trainer David Fawkes.

O'Connor (Boboman), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Fayette), worked four furlongs in 49.3 seconds at Palm Meadows on Saturday morning. It was the 24th fastest of 66 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he won the Fayette (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Keeneland on Oct. 28 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.

Skippylongstocking (Exaggerator), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Charles Town Classic), worked five furlongs in 59.5 seconds at Palm Meadows on Saturday morning.
