Monday tab: 18 graded winners work, including Mabee possibles
Two of the leading older female turf horses on the West Coast, Going Global and Going to Vegas, worked Monday morning at Del Mar. They both are possible for the Grade 2 John. C. Mabee Stakes Saturday at the seaside track.
Going to Vegas, who won the Mabee last year, drilled five furlongs on the Del Mar dirt in 1:01.4. She has not raced since finishing second, beaten 1/2 length, in the Gamely (G1) on May 30. But she has been on the work tab every six to seven days through the summer.
Going Global, most recently the winner of the Yellow Ribbon Handicap (G2) at Del Mar on Aug. 13, worked five furlongs in 1:01.8 on the dirt. It was her second drill since her victory last month.
