Works report: 13 drills include a bullet from Hoist the Gold

Hoist the Gold, working for the third time since a 14th-place finish in the Group 1 Saudi Cup, fired a bullet at Churchill Downs on Monday morning. Trained by Dallas Stewart, he went four furlongs in 46.4 seconds. It was the fastest work of 21 at the course and distance.

The 5-year-old Mineshaft horse has been off the board in two outings this year, but three starts back he won the Cigar Mile (G2) by 4 1/2 lengths over Señor Buscador. He is nominated to the $1 million Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) on May 4.
