Klaravich Stables’ horse for course Technical Analysis recorded her first serious piece of work since capturing the restricted De La Rose on Aug. 2 at Saratoga when going a half-mile in 50.0 seconds Thursday over the Spa’s Oklahoma training turf.

Trained by Chad Brown, the 5-year-old Kingman bay mare has captured at least one stakes race for the last three years during Saratoga’s prestigious meet. As a sophomore she captured the Lake George (G3) and Lake Placid (G2) before winning last year’s Ballston Spa (G2). Her lone defeat at Saratoga took place in last year’s Diana (G1), where she finished second by 1 1/2 lengths to stablemate In Italian.

Technical Analysis will target a repeat conquest of the 1 1/16 mile Ballston Spa next Thursday, when she will attempt to join Wait a While in 2007 and 2008 and Weekend Madness and 1994 and 1995 as consecutive winners of the race.

“She worked fine,” Brown said. “It was a nice easy breeze for her, and I’ll probably wheel her right back in the Ballston Spa.”

A Ballston Spa triumph also would put Technical Analysis, who boasts purse earnings of $964,543, in the millionaire’s club. She has put together a record of 14: 7-4-1 that includes a triumph in last year’s Gallorette (G3) at Pimlico.

Bred in Ireland by Rabbah Bloodstock, Technical Analysis is out of the two-time-winning Sea the Stars mare Sealife and was bought for $258,109 from the 2019 Tattersalls October yearling sale.
