Workouts: Straight No Chaser is 1 of 13 graded winners on tab

With a trip to the Middle East expected to be in his near future, Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner Straight No Chaser returned to the work tab Sunday.

The Speightster horse who turns 6 on Wednesday drilled a half-mile in 48.0 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the fifth-fastest of 56 workouts covering that distance on the fast main track.

Owned by MyRacehorse and trained by Dan Blacker, Straight No Chaser is being aimed for the six-furlong, Grade 2 Riyadh Dirt Sprint on the Saudi Cup (G1) undercard Feb. 22.

In his last start, he placed third in the Native Diver (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 23 for trainer Doug O’Neill.

Tenma (Nyquist), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Del Mar Debutante), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the 19th fastest of 56 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she won the Starlet (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Los Alamitos on Dec. 7 for trainer Bob Baffert.

Anarchist (Distorted Humor), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Pat O’Brien), worked five furlongs in 1:01.2 at Santa Anita. It was the 29th fastest of 77 works at the distance.
