Training for a possible but not yet certain start next month in the Grade 1 Cotillion Stakes, Godolphin’s homebred filly Pretty Mischievous worked a half-mile Thursday morning at Saratoga.

Her 49.0-second breeze came in her first workout since she was awarded the victory nearly three weeks ago in the Test (G1) after certain winner Maple Leaf Mel suffered what proved to be a fatal breakdown at the finish line.

Although trainer Brendan Walsh texted Thursday there was “nothing definite yet,” Godolphin bloodstock director Michael Banahan said last week that the 1 1/16-mile Cotillion, a $1 million race Sept. 23 at Parx Racing, could be considered for Pretty Mischievous.

“Nothing is set in stone yet, and we’re guided by the filly, but we’ll have a look at the Cotillion,” Banahan told the New York Racing Association last Wednesday. “It’s a significant race, and it’s the last race at a distance for the 3-year-old fillies.”
