Works report: Nest has 1st breeze since the Belmont Stakes
Nest, the runner-up in the Belmont Stakes on June 11, returned to the work tab on Friday for the first time since falling short in her bid to become the fourth filly to win the historic "Test of the Champion."
The daughter of Curlin worked four furlongs in 51.0 seconds at Belmont Park on Friday morning. It was the 28th fastest of 36 works at the distance.
The Todd Pletcher-trained filly finished three lengths behind stablemate Mo Donegal in the 1 1/2-mile race Belmont Stakes for owners Repole Stable, Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Michael House.
Prior to that, she was runner-up in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs on May 6 and the winner of the Ashland Stakes (G1) at Keeneland on April 8.
Pletcher has not confirmed where she will race next, but the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) on July 23 at Saratoga is a possibility.
