Last year’s Preakness winner National Treasure moved another step closer to a possible run in the Grade 1, $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational when he turned in an impressive workout Saturday morning.

In company with 5-year-old gelding Flying Drummer, the 4-year-old colt trained by Bob Baffert went six furlongs in 1:11.2 at Santa Anita, the fastest of the three workouts at the distance. National Treasure fired a bullet last Friday, when he went the same three-quarters of a mile in 1:12.4.
