Workouts: Formidable Man is 1 of 34 graded winners on the tab

Turf specialist Formidable Man, who could be looking at a Memorial Day bid for his third Grade 1 victory, turned in his fifth consecutive weekly workout Saturday morning at Santa Anita.

The 4-year-old colt owned by Bill and Suzanne Warren went five furlongs in 59.4 seconds on the fast main track. He worked the same course and distance Sunday in 1:01.2. His three previous works were a half-mile each progressing from 48.2 to 48.6 to 47.4 seconds.

Trained by Michael McCarthy, Formidable Man could have his next start in the Shoemaker Mile (G1) on May 26 at Santa Anita.
