Workouts: Eclipse winner returning from injury is on tab

Coming back from a bone bruising that cost her a chance to race in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks, Eclipse Award winner Immersive was back on the work tab Friday morning for the second time in as many weeks.

The 4-for-4 winner of the 2024 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies breezed three furlongs in 36.0 seconds at Churchill Downs. The Godolphin homebred daughter of Nyquist worked the same distance in 38.2 seconds last Friday, the morning of the Oaks.

Trainer Brad Cox has not yet publicly chosen a race for Immersive to make her 3-year-old debut.

Immersive (Nyquist), a three-time Grade 1 winner (2024 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, 2024 Alcibiades, 2024 Spinaway), worked three furlongs in 36.0 seconds at Churchill Downs on Friday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 18 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going three furlongs at Churchill Downs. In her last start she won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Brad Cox.

Nakatomi (Firing Line), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap), worked four furlongs in 51.6 seconds at Keeneland. It was the 65th fastest of 66 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in the Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) going about six furlongs on the dirt at Meydan on April 5 for trainer Wesley Ward.

Newgrange (Violence), a three-time Grade 2 winner (2024 San Pasqual, 2023 San Antonio, 2023 San Pasqual), worked four furlongs in 48.7 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the third fastest of 13 works at the distance. His previous work was 12 days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed 11th in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 25 for trainer José D’Angelo.

Skippylongstocking (Exaggerator), a three-time Grade 2 winner (2024 Charles Town Classic, 2024 Oaklawn Handicap, 2023 Charles Town Classic), worked three furlongs in 38.9 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the 30th fastest of 35 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed third in the Oaklawn Handicap (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Oaklawn on April 19 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.

Tarifa (Bernardini), a three-time Grade 2 winner (2024 Mother Goose, 2024 Fair Grounds Oaks, 2024 Rachel Alexandra), worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Churchill Downs. It was the 42nd fastest of 55 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed second in the Doubledogdare (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Keeneland on April 18 for trainer Brad Cox.

Nothing Like You (Malibu Moon), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2024 Santa Anita Oaks, 2023 Starlet), worked four furlongs in 48.4 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the 34th fastest of 60 works at the distance. Her previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she placed fourth in the Zenyatta (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Sept. 29 for trainer Bob Baffert.

Baby Yoda (Prospective), a Grade 2 winner (2024 True North), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Belmont Park. It was the sixth fastest of 97 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed fifth in the Fall Highweight going six furlongs on the main track at Aqueduct on Nov. 29 for trainer Bill Mott.

Be Your Best (Muhaarar), a Grade 2 winner (2025 Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf Invitational), worked three furlongs in 36.7 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the fourth fastest of 35 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed eighth in the Jenny Wiley (G1) going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Keeneland on April 12 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.
