On the verge of turning 10, durable C Z Rocket was back on the work tab Saturday morning at San Luis Rey Downs.

The two-time Grade 2 winner with 13 wins in 45 starts was clocked at 48.6 seconds for his half-mile breeze for trainer Peter Miller. It was the City Zip gelding’s second workout since he won a sprint allowance race Nov. 25 at Del Mar.

“Looking at some races at Oaklawn for the big guy,” Miller said Saturday.

A Florida-bred son of City Zip, C Z Rocket is owned by Altamira Racing Stable, Madaket Stables and Tom Kagele.
