Du Jour, who was scratched out of Friday’s Grade 1 Maker’s Mark Mile at Keeneland, stayed home for a morning workout at Santa Anita, where he has been re-aimed for a top-level race next month.

The winner of last month’s Frank E. Kilroe Mile (G1) went a half-mile in 48.6 seconds for trainer Bob Baffert, who also worked fellow Grade 1 winners National Treasure and Muth as well as Grade 3 winners Mr Fisk and Reincarnate.

Baffert said Friday afternoon that Du Jour, a 6-year-old gelding co-owned by his wife Jill and by Debbie Lanni, would target the May 27 running of the Shoemaker Mile (G1) at Santa Anita. He said he did not have a next race yet for National Treasure.
