Grade 1 winner and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile runner-up Muth got back to work Tuesday at Santa Anita in preparation for his 3-year-old season.
The $2 million Good Magic colt owned by Amr Zedan was clocked going a half-mile in 48.0 seconds on the fast main track. It was his third workout on the same track where he finished second to likely division champion Fierceness in the Breeders’ Cup.

Muth (Good Magic), a Grade 1 winner (2023 American Pharoah), worked four furlongs in 48.0 seconds at Santa Anita on Tuesday morning. It was the ninth fastest of 57 works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Nov. 3 for trainer Bob Baffert.
Master Piece (Mastercraftsman), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2023 Red Smith, 2022 Eddie Read), worked five furlongs in 1:03.4 at Belmont Park. It was the third fastest of four works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going five furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he won the Red Smith (G2) going 1 3/8 miles on the turf at Aqueduct on Nov. 11 for trainer Rick Dutrow.
Elm Drive (Mohaymen), a Grade 2 winner (2021 Sorrento), worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the 42nd fastest of 57 works at the distance. Her previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she placed seventh in the Matriarch (G1) going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on Dec. 3 for trainer Phil D’Amato.
Ginóbili (Munnings), a Grade 2 winner (2021 Pat O’Brien), worked six furlongs in 1:12.2 at San Luis Rey. It was the fastest of four works at the distance.
