Work tab: 6 graded winners, 1 Derby futures horse breeze

On a light day of workouts for graded-stakes winners, Howbeit returned to the tab with a breeze in Kentucky on Wednesday.

The winner of the 2022 Grade 2 Santa Anita Sprint Championship for Mark Glatt went a half-mile in 49.0 seconds at The Thoroughbred Center for his current trainer Billy Morey. No specific race has been identified yet publicly for the 7-year-old gelding.

Howbeit finished fifth last month in an optional-claiming allowance race at Tampa Bay Downs and was in for a $32,000 tag. A claim for him, however, was voided by the track veterinarian, according to the Equibase chart.

Six graded-stakes victors and one Kentucky Derby 2024 futures option appeared on the U.S. work tab Wednesday.

Howbeit (Secret Circle), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Santa Anita Sprint Championship), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at The Thoroughbred Center on Wednesday morning. It was the fifth fastest of 28 works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going four furlongs at The Thoroughbred Center. In his last start he placed fifth in an allowance race going seven furlongs on the main track at Tampa Bay Downs on Jan. 12 for trainer Bill Morey.

Brooklyn Strong (Wicked Strong), a Grade 2 winner (2020 Remsen), worked five furlongs in 1:05.8 at Parx Racing. It was the 13th fastest of 14 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed eighth in a starter allowance race going one mile on the turf at Tampa Bay Downs on Jan. 24 for trainer Víctor Barboza.

Duke of Love (Cupid), a Grade 3 winner (2023 West Virginia Governor's), worked four furlongs in 49.4 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the 12th fastest of 24 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed fifth in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Saratoga on Sept. 2 for trainer Josie Carroll.

Giant Game (Giant’s Causeway), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Handicap), worked four furlongs in 48.0 seconds at Gulfstream Park. It was the third fastest of 31 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start he placed eighth in the Clark (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 24 for trainer Dale Romans.

Mo Stash (Mo Town), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Transylvania), worked four furlongs in 50.4 seconds at Payson Park. It was the ninth fastest of 12 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Payson Park. In his last start he placed sixth in the Franklin-Simpson (G2) going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 9 for trainer Vicki Oliver.

Sittin On Go (Brody's Cause), a Grade 3 winner (2020 Iroquois), worked four furlongs in 51.0 seconds at Belmont Park. It was the 12th fastest of 39 works at the distance. His previous work was five days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed third in a starter allowance race going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Oaklawn on Jan. 27 for trainer David Jacobson.

Who Dey (Liam’s Map) worked three furlongs in 36.8 at Turfway Park. It was the fastest of four works at the distance. His previous work was 18 days ago going three furlongs at Turfway Park. In his last start he won an allowance race going one mile on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25 for trainer Tom Drury Jr.
