Workouts: 2 champs among 56 graded-stakes winners on track

Eclipse Award winners Gamine and Vequist led 56 timed workouts by graded-stakes winners Sunday.

Coming off her win in the Great Lady M (G2) at Los Alamitos, Gamine fired a bullet work at Del Mar for trainer Bob Baffert in preparation for the Ballerina Stakes (G1) on Aug. 28 at Saratoga.

Vequist breezed five furlongs at Saratoga, where she has come back from a break for four consecutive weekly workouts for trainer Butch Reid. She has been on the bench for more than five months.
