Preparing for his 7-year-old season, Grade 1 winner Tripoli had a half-mile workout Wednesday morning at Santa Anita.
The Kitten’s Joy horse owned by Hronis Racing and trained by John Sadler went the four furlongs in 48.4 seconds on the fast main track. The winner of the 2021 Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar, Tripoli finished third last out Nov. 4 in the Golden Gate Handicap (G3) in Northern California.

It was the 21st fastest of 49 works at the distance. His previous work was 14 days ago going three furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed 13th in the Breeders’ Cup Mile going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 for trainer Phil D’Amato.
Clapton (Brethren), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Lukas Classic), worked five furlongs in 1:01.9 at Palm Meadows. It was the second fastest of eight works at the distance.
