Works: 10 graded winners, 2 Kentucky Derby candidates breeze

Most of the prominent workouts Wednesday were centered in Florida, a rare exception to the winter blast that has gripped most of the nation.

Led by Grade 1 winner Leave No Trace’s half-mile breeze at Gulfstream Park, there were 10 timed workouts from graded-stakes victors and two more by horses listed in the Las Vegas futures for Kentucky Derby 2024.

Graded-stakes winners

Leave No Trace (Outwork), a Grade 1 winner (2022 Spinaway), worked four furlongs in 48.2 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Wednesday morning. It was the fifth fastest of 31 works at the distance. Her previous work was 12 days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In her last start she placed sixth in an allowance race going five furlongs on the synthetic at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 3 for trainer Phil Serpe.

Instant Coffee (Bolt d’Oro), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Kentucky Jockey Club), worked four furlongs in 48.2 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the third fastest of 32 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed sixth in the Louisiana Derby (G2) going 1 3/16 miles on the main track at Fair Grounds on March 25 for trainer Brad Cox.

Interstatedaydream (Classic Empire), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Black-Eyed Susan), worked four furlongs in 51.8 seconds at Palm Beach Downs. It was the fourth fastest of four works at the distance. Her previous work was 17 days ago going three furlongs at Palm Beach Downs. In her last start she won the Turnback the Alarm going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Aqueduct on Nov. 3 for Cox.

Sibelius (Not This Time), a two-time Grade 3 winner (2023 Mr. Prospector, 2022 Mr. Prospector), worked four furlongs in 49.7 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the 19th fastest of 32 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won the Mr. Prospector (G3) going seven furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 23 for trainer Jeremiah O’Dwyer.

Dean Delivers (Cajun Breeze), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Smile Sprint), worked four furlongs in 49.1 seconds at Gulfstream Park. It was the 12th fastest of 31 works at the distance. His previous work was 18 days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start he placed second in the FTBOA Marion County Florida Sire going seven furlongs on the main track at Tampa Bay Downs on Dec. 9 for trainer Michael Yates.

English Bee (English Channel), a Grade 3 winner (2019 Commonwealth Derby), worked five furlongs in 1:02.7 on turf at Palm Meadows. It was the sixth fastest of eight works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed fifth in the Turf Mile (G1) going one mile on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 7 for trainer Graham Motion.

Guildsman (Wootton Bassett), a Grade 3 winner (2020 Franklin-Simpson), worked four furlongs in 48.1 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the second fastest of 32 works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going three furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he won a starter allowance race going six furlongs on the synthetic at Woodbine on Dec. 3 for trainer Martin Drexler.

Slipstream (More Than Ready), a Grade 3 winner (2021 Futurity), worked five furlongs in 1:03.4 at Payson Park. It was the fastest of six works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going five furlongs at Payson Park. In his last start he placed fifth in an allowance race going six furlongs on the synthetic at Woodbine on Nov. 12 for trainer Christophe Clément.

Star Fortress (Sea The Stars), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Cardinal), worked five furlongs in 59.7 seconds on turf at Palm Meadows. It was the second fastest of eight works at the distance. Her previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start she won the Cardinal (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Churchill Downs on Nov. 23 for trainer Cherie DeVaux.

Walkathon (Twirling Candy), a Grade 3 winner (2022 Regret), worked four furlongs in 47.0 seconds on turf at Palm Meadows. It was the fourth fastest of 34 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start she placed fourth in the Suwannee River (G3) going one mile on the turf at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 30 for trainer Ian Wilkes.

Kentucky Derby candidates

Ignite the Light (Into Mischief) worked four furlongs in 51.4 seconds at Belmont Park. It was the 12th fastest of 21 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed fourth in a maiden race going seven furlongs on the main track at Aqueduct on Dec. 2 for trainer Rick Dutrow.

Inveigled (Enticed) worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the sixth fastest of 32 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fourth in the Mucho Macho Man going one mile on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 1 for trainer Jane Cibelli.
