Workout report: War Like Goddess leads Monday drills
War Like Goddess, winner of the Grade 1 Flower Bowl in 2021, returned to the work tab at Payson Park on Monday morning for trainer Bill Mott. Unraced since finishing third in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf last year, she has drilled regularly at Payson Park since March 7.
Two Oaklawn-based Grade 2 winners posted their first workouts since their last race. Tenfold, trained by Steve Asmussen, was last seen finishing third behind dirt marathon star Lone Rock in the Temperence Hill at Oaklawn April 3. Wells Bayou, under the care of trainer Brad Cox, posted his first drill since finishing third behind Grade 3 winner Background in an April 2 allowance in Hot Springs.

It was the second fastest of 3 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Payson Park Training Center. In her last start she placed third in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1) going 1 3/8 miles on the turf at Del Mar on Nov. 6 for trainer Bill Mott.
Masteroffoxhounds (War Front), a Grade 2 winner (2021 San Marcos), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the third fastest of 10 works at the distance. His previous work was five days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on March 25 for trainer Richard Baltas.
Du Jour (Temple City), a Grade 2 winner (2021 American Turf), worked three furlongs in 37.0 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the fifth fastest of 13 works at the distance. His previous work was 26 days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed third in the Temperence Hill going 1 1/2 miles on the main track at Oaklawn on April 3 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
