Work tab: Turf stayer Personal Best fires bullet in Florida

Still looking for her first victory since her graded-stakes breakthrough 15 months ago, turf stayer Personal Best had a bullet workout Wednesday morning.

The winner of the La Prevoyante (G3) covering 1 1/2 miles on the Gulfstream Park grass in January 2023 was clocked going five furlongs in 59.0 seconds in a turf breeze at Palm Meadows in Florida.

The 5-year-old Tapit mare who is a Joseph Allen homebred has not raced since she finished seventh last fall in the Dowager (G3) at Keeneland.

There were nine graded-stakes winners on the Wednesday work tab across America.

Personal Best (Tapit), a Grade 3 winner (2023 La Prevoyante), worked five furlongs in 59.0 seconds on turf at Palm Meadows on Wednesday morning. It was the fastest of five works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start she placed seventh in the Dowager (G3) going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 22 for her former trainer Shug McGaughey.

Can Group (Good Samaritan), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Bourbon), worked four furlongs in 49.8 seconds at Churchill Downs. It was the 25th fastest of 45 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed sixth in the Transylvania (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Keeneland on April 5 for trainer Mark Casse.

Dicey Mo Chara (Adaay), a Grade 2 winner (2022 San Gabriel), worked five furlongs in 1:01.2 at Santa Anita. It was the third fastest of nine works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed eighth in the Eddie Read (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Del Mar on July 30 for trainer Leonard Powell.

Olivia Darling (Palace), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Inside Information), worked four furlongs in 49.1 seconds at Gulfstream Park. It was the seventh fastest of seven works at the distance. Her previous work was 11 days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In her last start she placed second in the Hurricane Bertie (G3) going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream Park on March 9 for trainer Jorge Delgado.

Papilio (Starspangledbanner), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Appalachian), worked four furlongs in 50.6 seconds at Churchill Downs. It was the 35th fastest of 45 works at the distance. Her previous work was 28 days ago going five furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start she placed second in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 24 for trainer Mark Casse.

Pounce (Lookin At Lucky), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Herecomesthebride), worked four furlongs in 48.4 seconds at Churchill Downs. It was the 12th fastest of 45 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed 11th in the Appalachian (G2) going one mile on the turf at Keeneland on April 6 for trainer Mark Casse.

Power Squeeze (Union Rags), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Gulfstream Park Oaks), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Gulfstream Park. It was the sixth fastest of seven works at the distance. Her previous work was 11 days ago going five furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In her last start she won the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Gulfstream Park on March 30 for trainer Jorge Delgado.

War At Sea (War Front), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Golden Gate Handicap), worked six furlongs in 1:18.4 at Santa Anita. It was the only work at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed second in the American (G3) going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on April 4 for trainer Ron Ellis.

Webslinger (Constitution), a Grade 2 winner (2023 American Turf), worked four furlongs in 49.4 seconds at Churchill Downs. It was the 20th fastest of 45 works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed third in the Muniz Memorial Classic presented by Horse Racing Nation (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Fair Grounds on March 23 for trainer Mark Casse.
