Work tab: Chatalas is among 12 graded-stakes winners breezing

Chatalas, a no-threat ninth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita on Nov. 3 in the worst finish of her four-race career, reappeared on the work tab on Friday.

The 2-year-old daughter of Gun Runner, trained by Mark Glatt, worked four furlings in 49.6 seconds at Santa Anita, the 25th fastest of 29 works at the distance. 

Chatalas won the Grade 2 Chandelier Stakes at Santa Anita in her prior start and is two-for-four lifetime, with earnings of $207,200 for owners Rancho Temescal Thoroughbred Partners, Dan Agnew and William Chatalas.

Glatt has not yet announced a target race for Chatalas's return.

Chatalas (Gun Runner), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Chandelier), worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Friday morning. It was the 25th fastest of 29 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed ninth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Nov. 3 for trainer Mark Glatt.

Delight (Mendelssohn), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Jessamine), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Turfway Park on Friday morning. It was the 21st fastest of 46 works at the distance. Her previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Turfway Park. In her last start she placed fourth in an allowance race going one mile on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 7 for trainer Jonathan Thomas.

Hoist the Gold (Mineshaft), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Phoenix), worked four furlongs in 47.2 seconds at Churchill Downs on Friday morning. It was the fastest of 46 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed sixth in the Breeders' Cup Sprint going six furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 for trainer Dallas Stewart.

Seal Team (War Front), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Twilight Derby), worked six furlongs in 1:13.8 at Santa Anita on Friday morning. It was the slower of two works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he won the Twilight Derby (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 for trainer Richard Mandella.

Packs a Wahlop (Creative Cause), a two-time Grade 3 winner (2022 Zuma Beach, 2022 Del Mar Juvenile Turf), worked four furlongs in 47.4 seconds at Turfway Park on Friday morning. It was the fastest of 46 works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed 10th in the Twilight Derby (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 for trainer Jeff Mullins.

In his last start he placed fifth in an allowance race going one mile on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 3 for trainer Eddie Kenneally.

Forbidden Kingdom (American Pharoah), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2022 San Felipe, 2022 San Vicente), worked four furlongs in 48.2 seconds at Santa Anita on Thursday morning. It was the sixth fastest of 29 works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going three furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed fourth in the Triple Bend (G2) going seven furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita on May 27 for trainer Richard Mandella.

Arrest Me Red (Pioneerof the Nile), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Turf Sprint), worked five furlongs in 1:02.4 at Keeneland on Thursday morning. It was the fourth fastest of five works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Keeneland. In his last start he placed sixth in an allowance race going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 2 for trainer Wesley Ward.

Prince Abama (Tamayuz), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Hollywood Turf Cup), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Los Alamitos on Thursday morning. It was the third fastest of 11 works at the distance. Comanche Country (Highland Reel), a Grade 3 winner (2022 Surfer Girl), worked three furlongs in 37.0 seconds at Los Alamitos on Thursday morning. It was the second fastest of seven works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed 11th in the San Clemente (G2) going one mile on the turf at Del Mar on July 22 for trainer Phil D'Amato.

Maltese Falcon (Caravaggio), a Grade 3 winner (2023 La Jolla Handicap), worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Thursday morning. It was the 13th fastest of 29 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed 11th in the Twilight Derby (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 for trainer Leonard Powell.
