Work tab: Annapolis resurfaces, is 1 of 21 graded-stakes winners

The Todd Pletcher-trained Annapolis returned to the work tab on Friday for the first time since he finished fourth in the Grade 1 Turf Mile at Keeneland on Oct. 7.

The 4-year-old son of War Front, who won the 2022 edition of the Turf Mile, traveled three furlongs in 38.6 seconds at Palm Beach Downs, the faster of two works at the distance. His last timed workout prior to Friday's move was 50 days ago at Keeneland.

Pletcher has not yet identified a comeback target for Annapolis.

His previous work was 50 days ago going four furlongs at Keeneland. In his last start he placed fourth in the Turf Mile (G1) going one mile on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 7 for trainer Todd Pletcher.

Saudi Crown (Always Dreaming), a Grade 1 winner (2023 Pennsylvania Derby), worked three furlongs in 38.0 seconds at Churchill Downs on Friday morning. It was the only work at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed 10th in the Breeders' Cup Classic going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 for trainer Brad Cox.

Damon's Mound (Girvin), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2023 Gallant Bob, 2022 Saratoga Special), worked five furlongs in 59.0 seconds at Churchill Downs on Friday morning. It was the fastest of 21 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in the Steel Valley Sprint going six furlongs on the main track at Mahoning Valley Race Course on Nov. 20 for trainer Michelle Lovell.

Forbidden Kingdom (American Pharoah), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2022 San Felipe, 2022 San Vicente), worked five furlongs in 1:02.0 at Santa Anita on Friday morning. It was the 14th fastest of 26 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed fourth in the Triple Bend (G2) going seven furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita on May 27 for trainer Richard Mandella.

Agate Road (Quality Road), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Pilgrim), worked four furlongs in 51.3 seconds at Palm Beach Downs on Friday morning. It was the 15th fastest of 22 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Palm Beach Downs. In his last start he placed fifth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 3 for trainer Todd Pletcher.

Brooklyn Strong (Wicked Strong), a Grade 2 winner (2020 Remsen), worked three furlongs in 38.2 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Friday morning. It was the fourth fastest of five works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. Midnight Memories (Mastery), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Zenyatta), worked four furlongs in 47.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Friday morning. It was the third fastest of 42 works at the distance. Her previous work was 17 days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she placed third in the Beholder Mile (G1) going one mile on the main track at Santa Anita on March 11 for trainer Bob Baffert.

Stolen Base (Bodemeister), a Grade 2 winner (2022 American Turf), worked four furlongs in 49.7 seconds at Belmont Park on Friday morning. It was the 20th fastest of 77 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed ninth in an allowance race going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 14 for trainer Mike Maker.
