Woodbine appoints Tim Lawson as new director of racing

Woodbine Entertainment appointed Tim Lawson as the new director of Thoroughbred racing for Woodbine Racetrack. 

Lawson was promoted from manager of racing development and stabling operations at Woodbine. Lawson, the son of Woodbine CEO Jim Lawson, previously spent several years working in various racing operation positions at racetracks across Canada and the United States.

Lawson has served as racing secretary for Century Downs and was a project manager for the construction of Century Mile in Edmonton. He also worked with Keeneland Sales and Racing. 

Since joining Woodbine, Lawson has served as assistant racing secretary for both Thoroughbred and Standardbred Racing before moving into racing development and stabling operations. 

Lawson will begin his role as director of thoroughbred racing effective immediately.
