Woodbine: Caitlinhergrtness returns in 1 of 3 graded stakes

Caitlinhergrtness, Canada's champion 3-year-old filly of 2024, looks to tally another graded-stakes win Saturday in the Grade 3 Bessarabian at Woodbine.

Trained by Kevin Attard, Caitlinhergrtness is coming off a half-length loss last out in the Dance Smartly (G2) at Woodbine on Oct. 4. Before that, she won the Ontario Matron (G3) for her second graded victory. The Omaha Beach filly also won last year's King's Plate.

Caitlinhergrtness is the 2-1 favorite on the morning line for the Bessarabian, a seven-furlong sprint that drew an overflow field of fillies. The second choice is Ellen Jay, an also-eligible trained by Brad Cox, was the second choice on the morning line at 5-2.

Ward's Funtastic Again leads Autumn field

In the Autumn (G3), Funtastic Again will make his first start since winning the Dominion Day (G3) at Woodbine in June. The 5-year-old son of Funtastic was made the morning-line favorite at 5-2. Trained by Wesley Ward, Funtastic Again has had only one other start this year, finishing sixth in the Maker's Mark Mile (G1) in April. Mark Casse's Swift Delivery, winner of the Seagram Cup (G3) for Mark Casse in August, is the second choice on the morning line at 3-1.

Blitz steps up in Maple Leaf for Mark Casse

Blitz, a 4-year-old Uncle Mo filly trained by Mark Casse, tries graded company for the first time in the Maple Leaf (G3), a 1 1/4-mile race for fillies and mares, 3 years old and up. She made her first stakes start last out with a second-place finish in the black-type H.B.P.A. Stakes at Presque Isle Downs and was made the morning-line favorite at 2-1.
