Woodbine: Jockey Adams is injured in spill, 3 horses survive
One jockey reportedly was X-rayed and two others walked off the track as did the three horses who were involved in a spill Saturday at Woodbine.
Austin Adams had a deeply bruised and swollen lower back and was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment after the eighth-race accident, Paulick Report said. Leo Salles and Sahin Civaci also were dismounted but left the track without help.

Adams took off his Sunday and Monday rides, according to what agent Tony Esposito told Paulick Report. Adams wanted to see a medical specialist before deciding when he would be available to ride again.
Adams rode Balboni’s Crew, Salles was on Not a Care, and Civaci was aboard King Ronin in the US$53,379 turf race for 2-year-old maidens colts and geldings. Noburu, who was ridden by Fraser Aebly, veered slightly outward at the quarter pole in the two-turn mile. According to the Equibase chart, that led to clipped heels and a chain reaction involving the other three horses. Noburu crossed the finish line third but was disqualified out of the money after stewards decided he caused the spill.
