Parx has canceled its Tuesday card, according to social-media posts from the track management and announcer Jessica Paquette.

"Live racing has been canceled for Tuesday, December 24," a Monday post from the track's X account said. "Live racing is scheduled to resume on Saturday, December 28. There will be a mandatory distribution of the Philly Big 5 on Tuesday, December 31."

The National Weather Service predicted a high Monday of 25 degrees in Bensalem, Pa., where Parx is located. A low around 21 is expected overnight, with a 20% chance of snow showers. Forecasters predicted a high of 38 on Tuesday with a 90% chance of precipitation, expected to be snow showers and freezing rain before noon EDT, then rain or snow showers before 2 p.m. EDT.

With Parx canceling for Tuesday, the only track expected to run a Christmas Eve card is Tampa Bay Downs, whose nine-race card begins at 12:10 p.m. EDT. No tracks are scheduled to run on Wednesday, Christmas Day, and seven tracks will reopen for live racing Thursday, including Santa Anita, Fair Grounds and Gulfstream.

Parx will resume racing Saturday with a 10-race card with first post set for 12:05 p.m. EDT. The richest race on the card is a one-mile maiden special weight dirt mile for juveniles. The 2-1 morning-line favorite in the field of eight is Louis Linder trainee Happily Delusional, a son of Flatter who has been second in two of his three career starts. Both of those second-place finishes came going two turns at Parx.
