Kentucky Derby 2020 odds: Honor A. P. owns co-favoritism
Honor A. P.'s victory in the Santa Anita Derby (G1), along with a pair of major defections from the Bob Baffert barn, have reshuffled the deck when it comes to 2020 Kentucky Derby futures.
William Hill U.S.' odds as of this week list Honor A. P. as the new 4-1 co-favorite having defeated Baffert's previously unbeaten Authentic.
More bad news for Baffert's chances at a record-tying sixth Kentucky Derby victory on Sept. 5 had already arrived with Nadal (formerly 4-1) injured and retired and Charlatan (formerly 9-2) off the trail with a minor setback.
Primed for the June 20 Belmont Stakes, Tiz the Law remains at 4-1, now priced evenly with Honor A. P.
Despite his Santa Anita Derby defeat, Authentic, who's 3-for-4 with multiple graded stakes wins, sits at 6-1 on the board with just under three months until race day.
The only other horse with single-digit odds to win this year's Derby is Maxfield, who will skip the Belmont in favor of Keeneland's Blue Grass (G2) in July.
Notably, Cezanne, the $3.65 million Curlin colt who made a winning debut Saturday at Santa Anita Park, is 20-1 to win the Derby.
