When Jackson Bend won the $98,500 Frank Gomez Memorial Stakes for two-year-olds Saturday at Calder Race Course, he gave a big boost to his connections.
The two-year-old colt became the first stakes winner for his sire, Hear No Evil, who promptly shot up the freshman sire standings in Florida and the nation. Hear No Evil now ranks second in Florida behind Wildcat Heir and seventh nationally, ahead of such stallions as Rock Hard Ten, Consolidator, Afleet Alex and Ghostzapper.
