Wild Bout Tiffany Wins Monmouth Feature

Teresa and David Palmer’s Wild Bout Tiffany made her turf debut a winning one by capturing the $50,000 first-level allowance feature Friday at Monmouth Park.

Wild Bout Tiffany, a 3-year-old filly by Wildcat Heir, broke from the rail and settled just off the early pace in the 5 ½ furlong turf sprint behind quick fractions of :20 2/5 and :43 2/5.

At the top of the stretch, Wild Bout Tiffany [$14.60, $7, $5] tipped to the outside of pacesetter Watkins Glen and moved off strongly to the wire, finishing two lengths ahead of a rallying Belarus who returned $4.60 and $3 and completed the $53.80 exacta.  Cecilia’s Song was three lengths further back in third and paid $8.60.

Trained by Ed Plesa Jr. and ridden by Elvis Trujillo, Wild Bout Tiffany’s final time for the 5 ½ furlongs over firm turf was :55 1/5.

The win was the fourth-career score for Wild Bout Tiffany who improved her career record to 4-3-1 from nine lifetime starts.  Her career earnings are now $102,766.

Live racing continues tomorrow at Monmouth Park and features a day-long celebration of America’s Armed Forces – gates open at 11:30 a.m., first post 12:50 p.m.
