Ike and Dawn Thrash’s Wild About Marie pressed the pace of Temple Webber Jr.’s Truly Lucky most of the way, challenged that one in the late stages and drew clear for a 1 3/4-length victory in Monday’s featured $49,000 grass sprint for fillies and mares at about 5 1/2-furlongs over the Stall-Wilson turf course.

The winner, trained by Jeff Thornbury and ridden by Robby Albarado, toured the distance in 1:04.34 and increased her career earnings to $91,750 with her third win in eight lifetime starts.

Wild About Me returned mutuels of $10.60, $5.20 and $3.60, while Truly Lucky, who set early fractions of 22.52 and 46.47, paid $6.60 and $4.

George Ditola and Pat Greco’s Ocean Surge, never far back, had no late rally and finished third, 1 1/4-lengths farther back to return $3 in the show spot.

Racing resumes with a special 10-race holiday racing program on Wednesday with a 12:40 p.m. post time.
