Wednesday works: Nevada Beach leads graded winners

Nevada Beach, winner of the Grade 1 Goodwood Stakes, worked five furlongs Wednesday at Santa Anita for trainer Bob Baffert.

The 3-year-old Omaha Beach colt covered the distance in 1:01.4, sixth fastest of 11 at the distance.

It was his second work since his seventh-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Classic.

Nevada Beach was one of four graded-stakes winners with published works Wednesday.

Nevada Beach (Omaha Beach), a Grade 1 winner (2025 Goodwood), worked five furlongs in 1:01.4 at Santa Anita on Wednesday morning. It was the sixth fastest of 11 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed seventh in the Breeders' Cup Classic going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Bob Baffert.

Agate Road (Quality Road), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Pilgrim), worked three furlongs in 37.4 seconds at Palm Beach Downs on Wednesday morning. It was the slower of two works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going three furlongs at Palm Beach Downs. In his last start he placed fifth in the West Virginia Derby (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Mountaineer on Aug. 4 for trainer Todd Pletcher.

Another Mystery (Temple City), a Grade 3 winner (2022 John B. Connally Turf Cup), worked five furlongs in 1:02.0 at Fair Grounds on Wednesday morning. It was the fifth fastest of 10 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going one mile on the turf at Hawthorne on Nov. 2 for trainer Chris Block.

Lemon Muffin (Collected), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Honeybee), worked five furlongs in 1:00.0 at Santa Anita on Wednesday morning. It was the fastest of three works at the distance. Her previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she placed fifth in an allowance race going one mile on the main track at Saratoga on Aug. 21 for trainer Rodolphe Brisset.
