Wednesday works: Locked leads 11 graded-stakes winners
Locked, who hasn't raced since finishing third in the Grade 2 Suburban on July 4, worked Wednesday at Saratoga for trainer Todd Pletcher.
The 4-year-old Gun Runner colt breezed four furlongs in 48.83 seconds, second fastest of 25 at the distance. Daily Racing Form reported that Locked is pointed to the Woodward (G2) at Aqueduct on Sept. 27.
Locked was off for nearly a year before returning in October with a win in an optional-claiming allowance at the Belmont at the Big A meet. He then won the Cigar Mile (G2), was second in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) and won the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) before losses in the Alysheba (G2) and Suburban.
