Wednesday works: Il Miracolo drills ahead of Whitney start

Il Miracolo, 20-1 on the morning line for Saturday's Grade 1 Whitney, worked at Saratoga Wednesday morning for trainer Antonio Salo.

The 4-year-old Gun Runner colt breezed four furlongs from the gate in 49.02 seconds, seventh fastest of 27 at the distance. Wednesday's work was his fourth at Saratoga this month.

In his most recent start, Il Miracolo was third in the Alysheba (G1) on the Kentucky Oaks undercard.

He was one of 11 graded-stakes winners with published works Saturday.

Stilleto Boy (Shackleford), a Grade 1 winner (2023 Santa Anita Handicap), worked five furlongs in 1:03.0 at Turfway Park on Wednesday morning. It was the 12th fastest of 16 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Turfway Park.
