Wednesday works: Baffert has 2 of 13 graded winners on tab
Two of trainer Bob Baffert’s Grade 1 winners were back on the main track for workouts Wednesday morning at Santa Anita.
Preakness winner National Treasure and 2022 Starlet (G1) victor Faiza went a half-mile each. National Treasure was clocked at 47.8 seconds, the fourth fastest work among the 27 at the distance. Faiza, who finished third in the Black-Eyed Susan (G2) the day before the Preakness, had a time of 48.4 seconds that was seventh fastest Wednesday.
Baffert told Horse Racing Nation on Wednesday he had no firm plans for either horse’s next race.

National Treasure (Quality Road), a Grade 1 winner (2023 Preakness), worked four furlongs in 47.8 seconds at Santa Anita on Wednesday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 27 works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed sixth in the Belmont going 1 1/2 miles on the main track at Belmont Park on June 10 for trainer Bob Baffert.
Faiza (Girvin), a Grade 1 winner (2022 Starlet), worked four furlongs in 48.4 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the seventh fastest of 27 works at the distance. Her previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she placed third in the Black-Eyed Susan (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Pimlico on May 19 for Baffert.
Chi Town Lady (Verrazano), a Grade 1 winner (2022 Test), worked five furlongs in 1:01.0 at Keeneland. It was the third fastest of nine works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Keeneland. In her last start she placed third in an allowance race going seven furlongs on the main track at Belmont Park on June 16 for trainer Wesley Ward.
Leave No Trace (Outwork), a Grade 1 winner (2022 Spinaway), worked three furlongs in 36.5 seconds at Saratoga. It was the sixth fastest of 28 works at the distance. Her previous work was 10 days ago going three furlongs at Belmont Park. In her last start she placed eighth in the Davona Dale (G2) going one mile on the main track at Gulfstream Park on March 4 for trainer Phil Serpe.
Storm the Court (Court Vision), a Grade 1 winner (2019 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile), worked four furlongs in 47.6 seconds at Saratoga. It was the third fastest of 32 works at the distance. His previous work was 13 days ago going five furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed fifth in the Tokyo City Cup (G3) going 1 1/2 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Oct. 2 for trainer Peter Eurton.

at Woodbine. It was the fastest of seven works at the distance. His previous
work was seven days ago going three furlongs at Woodbine. In his last start he
placed eighth in a claiming race going 5 1/2 furlongs on the synthetic at
Gulfstream Park on March 11 for trainer Mike Maker.
Majestic Eagle (Medaglia d’Oro), a Grade 3 winner (2019 American), worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the second fastest of four works at the distance.
