Wednesday works: 2 Kentucky Derby prospects + 11 others

Two Kentucky Derby 2023 prospects and 11 older graded-stakes winners had published works Wednesday morning.

The Derby prospects were Two Phil's, winner of the Street Sense (G3) and second last out in the Lecomte (G3) and Bromley, who was 2-for-2 before finishing fifth in the Lecomte.

Here are details of Wednesday works by these prospects and older horses.

Two Phil's (Hard Spun), a Grade 3 winner (2022 Street Sense), worked five furlongs in 59.8 seconds at Fair Grounds on Wednesday morning. It was the fastest of 10 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed second in the Lecomte (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Fair Grounds on Jan. 21 for trainer Larry Rivelli.

Bromley (Mastery) worked four furlongs in 49.2 at The Thoroughbred Center on Wednesday morning. It was the fastest of nine works at the distance. This is his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fifth in the Lecomte (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Fair Grounds on Jan. 21 for trainer Paulo H. Lobo.

Older horses

Classic Causeway (Giant's Causeway), a Grade 1 winner (2022 Belmont Derby Invitational), worked four furlongs in 48.6 at Fair Grounds on Wednesday morning. It was the fifth fastest of 29 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going three furlongs at Fair Grounds.
