Wednesday tab: Papilio is back at work for Mark Casse
Papilio, last seen finishing eighth in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup in October, was back at work Wednesday morning.
The 4-year-old daughter of Starspangledbanner, trained by Mark Cassee, had a record of 7: 1-2-2 last year, with all starts in graded stakes. Her lone win came in the Appalachian (G2) at Keeneland in April.
In her second work since the Queen Elizabeth II, she breezed four furlongs in 49.55 seconds at Palm Meadows, ninth fastest of 28 works at the distance.

Arrest Me Red (Pioneerof the Nile), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Turf Sprint), worked five furlongs in 1:01.2 at Turfway Park on Wednesday morning. It was the fastest of 27 works at the distance. His previous work was 12 days ago going five furlongs at Keeneland. In his last start he placed sixth in an allowance race going 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 2 for trainer Wesley Ward.
