Wednesday tab: Nitrogen leads 12 graded-stakes winners
Nitrogen worked Wednesday morning at Saratoga for the first time since her runner-up effort in the Grade 1 Whitney Stakes on Aug. 8.
The two-time Eclipse Award winner breezed four furlongs in 50.59 seconds for trainer Mark Casse, 29th fastest of 36 at the distance.
Before the Whitney, Nitrogen won the Ogden Phipps (G1) at Saratoga, her seventh graded-stakes victory. She has finished in the money in each of her 17 career starts and has earnings of $2.9 million. Her next start will be in the Locust Grove (G2) on Sept. 12 at Churchill Downs.

It was the 29th fastest of 36 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed second in the Whitney (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Saratoga on Aug. 8 for trainer Mark Casse.
Eunomia (Tiz the Law), a Grade 1 winner (2026 Clement L. Hirsch), worked three furlongs in 38.3 seconds at Saratoga on Wednesday morning. It was the slowest of four works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she won the Clement L. Hirsch (G1) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Aug. 1 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.
Get Her Number (Dialed In), a Grade 1 winner (2020 American Pharoah), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Remington Park on Wednesday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 36 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed third in a starter allowance race going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Ellis Park on July 31 for trainer Robertino Diodoro.
