Wednesday tab: Kopion fires a bullet, leads 7 graded winners
Kopion, winner of three straight graded stakes, fired a bullet Wednesday for trainer Richard Mandella.
The 4-year-old Omaha Beach filly went four furlongs in 46.0 seconds at Santa Anita, fastest of 18 at the distance.
Winner of the Grade 1 Derby City Distaff in her most recent start, Kopion also won the Santa Monica (G2) in February and the La Brea (G1) in December. Those three starts came after an eight-month break.
Mandella told Daily Racing Form last week that she is pointed to the Great Lady M. at Del Mar on July 5 for her next start.
