Wednesday tab: Deterministic leads 8 graded-stakes winners

Deterministic, a graded-stakes winner in each of his last two starts, worked Wednesday at Saratoga for trainer Miguel Clement.

The 4-year-old son of Liam's Map breezed four furlongs in 48/73 seconds, second-fastest of 11 works at the distance.

Iin his last eight starts, seven of which were in graded stakes, Deterministic has four wins, three seconds and a third. Most recently, he led gate to wire in the Grade 1 Manhattan to win by a head.

Deterministic (Liam's Map), a Grade 1 winner (2025 Manhattan), worked four furlongs in 48.7 seconds at Saratoga on Wednesday morning. It was the second fastest of 11 works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going four furlongs at Saratoga. In his last start he won the Manhattan (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Saratoga on June 8 for trainer Miguel Clement.

Sandman (Tapit), a Grade 1 winner (2025 Arkansas Derby), worked four furlongs in 49.0 seconds at Saratoga on Wednesday morning. It was the 11th fastest of 33 works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going five furlongs at Saratoga. In his last start he placed third in the Preakness going 1 3/16 miles on the main track at Pimlico on May 17 for trainer Mark Casse.

Master Piece (Mastercraftsman), a three-time Grade 2 winner (2024 Fort Marcy, 2023 Red Smith, 2022 Eddie Read), worked four furlongs in 48.1 seconds at Belmont Park on Wednesday morning. It was the fastest of 49 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park.
