Amid the ongoing heat wave across much of the eastern half of the U.S., only six graded-stakes winners had published works Wednesday, and none were reported for Tuesday.

The workers included Atitlan, winner of the Grade 3 San Luis Rey and Charles Whittingham (G2) before finishing fifth last out in the Shoemaker Mile (G1) for trainer John Shirreffs. The 4-year-old son of The Factor worked five furlongs in 1:00.6 at Santa Anita, third fastest of 13 works at the track and distance.
