Bethany Wurl, head of public and client relations for WinStar Farm, said the operation didn’t expect a huge response, but certainly hoped for it, when revealing its commercial that will air across Kentucky during the Super Bowl.

When you’re less than a year separated from a Triple Crown, the momentum continues.

“We’ve done Super Bowl commercials the past few years, but this year we really wanted to make a statement and represent the industry,” Wurl said. “We’ve had such an incredible year, and we have so much to be thankful for. We wanted to rather than just keep singing our own song make sure the industry is put in the best light as well since we have this platform.”

WinStar intertwined images of Justify and his connections during the 30-second spot. At the end, video of Team WinStar celebrating the Belmont Stakes’ stretch run plays as the hashtag #HorsesChangedMyLife appears.

Social media users responded with tales of dealing with mental illness with horses, or traveling the world because of them, or simply ending up with a lifelong hobby following racing.

“It’s really, really nice to see that people are running away with it and sharing their stories,” Wurl said. “We want people to be able to spread awareness of how horses can change them and how special they are.”

If you’re in Kentucky, keep your eyes peeled. WinStar doesn’t know exactly when during the game the commercial will air. Those who would rather not wait can see it below:
