Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. has two chances to win the Grade 3, $250,000 Holy Bull on Saturday with Lord Miles and West Coast Cowboy.

Lord Miles, a son of Curlin, comes into the race out of a third-place finish in the Mucho Macho Man on Jan. 1. West Coast Cowboy, by young stallion West Coast, most recently finished fourth in an allowance-optional claiming race at Gulfstream on Nov. 27. He makes his stakes debut in the Holy Bull.

Andrew Capone caught up with Joseph at Gulfstream Park to talk about his contenders in Saturday's race. He discusses his chances with Lord Miles, and why he decided to run West Coast Cowboy in the race. He gives his opinions on his horses' inner post positions for the Holy Bull. And, Joseph talks about what it feels like to be on the Kentucky Derby trail.

Joseph is currently the leading trainer at Gulfstream Park; his 17 wins going into Friday's card put him three ahead of Todd Pletcher. Joseph is going for a repeat in the Holy Bull, as he won the 2022 edition with White Abarrio. White Abarrio went on to win the Florida Derby (G1) as well, and became Joseph's second Kentucky Derby starter. His first, Ny Traffic, raced in the 2020 Kentucky Derby.
