The family of Cody Dorman visited his namesake, two-time Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Cody’s Wish, Thursday at Godolphin’s Jonabell Farm in Lexington, Ky.

A video posted on X showed Cody’s Wish being visited at the farm by Cody’s parents, Kelly and Leslie Dorman, and his sister, Kylie.

Cody Dorman died Nov. 5 at age 17 after a medical emergency on the way home from watching Cody’s Wish win the Mile at Santa Anita. He had suffered from Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome.

After the Breeders’ Cup, Cody’s Wish was retired and is standing at Jonabell for a fee of $75,000.

In 2019 Cody Dorman met a yearling son of Curlin out of Grade 1 winner Dance Card while on a visit to Gainesborough Farm through Keeneland and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Then unnamed, the horse placed his head in Dorman's lap, beginning a bond between the two. Though Godolphin typically does not name horses after living individuals, they named the yearling Cody's Wish. Cody's Wish would go on to win 11 of 16 career starts and more than $3 million.
