Spendthrift Farm will stand Grade 1 winners Warrior's Reward and Line of David in 2011, as was announced Friday night at the farm's annual breeders' party in Lexington.

Warrior's Reward, a 4-year-old colt by Medaglia d'Oro, remains in training and is likely to retire to Spendthrift after the Breeders' Cup. Trained by Ian Wilkes for Steven Miles, Warrior's Reward won the Carter H. (G1) at Aqueduct in April over multiple graded stakes winners Musket Man and Munnings.

At three, Warrior's Reward won his debut at Gulfstream Park before recording a 113 Beyer Speed Figure with a victory over the aforementioned Munnings on Kentucky Oaks Day at Churchill Downs. That performance represented the highest Beyer recorded at Churchill Downs in 2009, as well as the highest for a 3-year-old colt that season along with Quality Road and I Want Revenge.

Line of David, a 3-year-old colt by Lion Heart, was retired to Spendthrift following a campaign that saw him defeat Grade 1 winners Noble's Promise, Dublin and next-out Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver in the $1 million Arkansas Derby (G1) at Oaklawn Park.

Trained by John Sadler for Ike and Dawn Thrash, the chestnut colt was making his first start away from California, and first on dirt, in the Arkansas Derby. He set fractions of 22.65, 46.26 and 1:10.75 before running 1 1/8 miles in 1:49.37, determinedly outfinishing Super Saver to the wire. The victory capped a three-race win streak for Line of David.

“We're delighted to be able to offer breeders two stallions of this caliber,” said B. Wayne Hughes, owner of Spendthrift Farm. “Both colts are Grade 1 winners by hot sires, and both physically look the part. We believe they'll be well received.”

Stud fees for Warrior's Reward and Line of David will be announced at a later date. Spendthrift also stands Don't Get Mad, Into Mischief, Notional, Tiz Wonderful and leading sire Malibu Moon.
